Andrew Rivera is the founder of Relance Refinishing, a New York–based restoration firm specializing in architectural millwork, historic brownstone interiors, and furniture. Trained in fine refinishing and restoration techniques, Andrew leads each project with a deep respect for craftsmanship and an understanding of period architecture. His appreciation for woodwork was shaped early in life, watching his grandfather build furniture and his parents restore their home. Today, that heritage of skill and precision informs the firm’s work on doors, staircases, and full interior restorations throughout New York City.

He can’t help but see himself in his work. When he restores a piece, he’s bringing it back to the original form its creator intended it to be; free from blemishes, gouges, or broken pieces. Restoration is a slow process, filling in gaps, smoothing rough surfaces, and removing layers of stain, but each step is a progression towards its original beauty. What was damaged is being made new again.
